My personal convictions and beliefs are that faith in Jesus Christ is sufficient and that it will lead to a complete salvation. He will fill us with His Holy Spirit.
We do not need Jesus plus something or somebody else.
Jesus said on the cross “It is finished”
Acts 16:31
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Acts 2:21
21 and it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast
JOHN 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
1 John 2:27
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
The Bible also promises the Holy Spirit to those:
- who obey Him (Acts 5:32)
- who ask for it (Luke 11:13)
- who are baptised in His Name (Acts 2:38)
ROMANS 8:9 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
You don’t need man’s approval but His witness that your faith in Him has been accepted.
Some Scriptures show us ordinances of God, other Scriptures tell us how to conduct ourselves, and how to live a holy life. Not a matter of salvation, but a matter of relationship with Christ. If we are in a love relationship with the risen Jesus Christ, He then will lead us into all truth. We will obey Him and Him alone.
Some ordinances are:
– Baptism (Matthew 28:19 and Acts 2:38)
– Communion (1. Corinthians 11:23-34)
– Foot washing (John 13:2-17)
The Holy Spirit will lead you into all Truth.
Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life
His Word is the Truth – He has not changed
8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
He will come again to raise the dead in Christ and to take His children to heaven. Keep your eyes on Him and Him alone.
Hebrews 9:28
28 so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
There are many more things to say. Keep company with believers in Christ and encourage one another as you see the day approaching
Jesus is alive!
